you can always upload as much stuff as you can to a storage site on the internet if all you're doing is backing stuff up. It'll take a while to upload though...

Oh, so you need a virtual drive to do what? Run an iso? A virtual drive can do any number of things. Be more specific. What i'm taking from this so far is that you have an ISO or WIM for vista, and are trying to install from that without a DVD to burn to. If that's the case, as far as my knowledge, you may be out of luck. In order to install, you will have to format, thus erasing this ISO that you want to install from. And even if there WERE a virtual way to store it while you install, it's over 4 GB or whatever, and that's far too much for a virtual drive. I think you just need to pick up a blank DVD.

what are you doing with a vista image off of a DVD anyhow?

I'm not sure that it's possible. All bootable virtual drives that I can think of require a disc. Do you have access to a blank CD? If so, you can built a WinPE boot disc on THAT, and boot into WinPE allowing you to install from there. WinPE is a console based preinstallation environment that allows you to deploy images and run installs. Problem is, in order to use this, you'll have to know the commands to get it installed, and will actually have to have the image in WIM format. All of this can be done, but is a little bit of work. I'm actually thinking about making a guide for it. If you research Win PE a little, and decide you want to give it a shot, let me know, and I'll do my best to help you with it.

Not possible. It may be possible to install via USB stick, but don't hold me to that
