Asus Xonar DX, thoughts?

What are your thoughts on this sound card? From what I've read, it's basically a Xonar D2X minus a few features and some amps swapped out. I can get an open box Xonar DX for $59, should I go for it?

Well yea there is the difference in interface as well, pci and pci-e. The d2x has a few different parts as you said but when it came to features I believe that the d2 gets them a couple months after the d2x. They do drivers for the d2x first and then the d2.

From looking at the website it does seem to suggest the d2x has more features. You've just got to ask yourself to you need them and are they worth the extra money?

You are thinking of the D2 vs the D2X. I'm talking about the DX here.

I've never heard one myself, but I'm sure it's well worth $60.

Slightly worse DACs, and no DTS. The other features aren't too important. The bonuses of the DX are the front panel connectors, low-profile for HTPC use, and PCI-E connector.

Unless you really want the extra features of the D2X, go for the DX. At that price, it's really hard to beat.

If I were you, I would upgrade to a D2/D2x open box d2 i think is only like $100. Itll wel be worth your month. And if you don't like your d2, ill take it off your hands

I absolutely LOVE MY D2X, wish I could have it paid only 100 for it, I still think at nearly 200 is was worth it... so spend the additional 41 and be thrilled.

I would, but an open box D2X is $120, $60 more than the DX. And that is $60 that I don't have
