Corsair XMS2 675MHz 2gb

Thread Starter
They're 4-4-4-12 at stock. I was able to lower it to 3-3-3-9 last time I messed with the timings at 1.9v (stock). I changed it back while diagnosing an series of BSODs, and now want to get back to overclocking this. Anyone know what the max voltage I can use without voiding the warranty? Anyone think I can reach 2-2-2-6? Frequency stays at 667MHz due to my CPU (e4300 @ 3GHz).

You would do better overclocking those RAMs than lowering their timings, I had a pair of those and I was able to make them go as high as 1066MHz on 4/4/4/12 but unstable. The highest stable OC I got was 910MHz on 4/4/4/12 timings. Heres the

You could go up a notch, 2.0v~2.1. Mind you, not all companies give a voltage protection, raising the voltage higher than specified is voiding the warranty (but they don't have to know that, do they )

Do not exceed 2.0 V. Whatever DIMMS they use on the 675Mhz stuff hates high volts. I've gone through 3 sets of that crap.

I've heard that keeping it on a 1:1 ratio with the CPU and tightening timings was the way to go for better RAM performance? If that's not true, what ratio should I aim for? And hell, say I did try to go for 2-2-2-X, would I even have a hope of keeping it stable at 2.1V?

hmmm i doubt that ram could do 2/2/2/x just because its good ram but not the best ram. if your trying to keep it at 1:1 its going to be very hard do that because the more you overclock your cpu the higher your ram mhz is going to be. once you have your cpu at max then find a suitable mhz and then try and tighten the timings. but the way i see it is that timings dont really affect the way your going to play crysis if you already have 2 gb of ram that should be running at 800 but its running at 1070. the xms 2 ram is good so if you want to overclock the mhz its good to give it more juice
