Zalman 9500 vs Freezer 7 Pro

I'm going to be building my sig rig soon, and I would like to know which HSF you guys would recommend. I don't plan on overclocking (at least not for quite some time), but the family (its a family computer) would prefer to have some sort of cooling other than the stock Intel cooler.

Both coolers have gotten 5/5 eggs on Newegg, and both seem to be popular items.

The Freezer Pro is cheaper, but the Zalman looks nicer and I have good faith in the Zalman brand, as my Zalman GPU cooler worked well in my last rig.

If you're running at stock I'd think either or would be fine. If you want looks then go for the zalman, or as previously stated go for the 9700 if you have the money to dish out for it.

Zalman is better but its also double the price. AF7 is my vote.

PS. they are regularly on sale at the egg for anywhere from 24-26 with free ship. wait a little if you decide to get the AF7

I really don't want to spend over $50, so the 9500 is as high as I'm going.

I'll sell you a brand new 9700 for $50 shipped. Why? I got some of them at a huge discount at frys electronics a couple months back.

PM me if you are interested.

If you're not overclocking, either should be fine. If the system you're buidling is the one you listed in your sig, then I may lean towards the Zalman. It might cool the quad a little better. I've seen excellent results from the AC7, but those were mostly from duos. Can anyone with a AC7 and a 65nm quad confirm it's cooling abilities? And as someone else mentioned, there are also some other good options below the $50 dollar mark.

You can find some good prices here if you're into Zalman:

The Zalman is what I'd go with. And it looks a heck of a lot more slick than the Freezer 7.
