I don't have to thank ATi. Hell, I don't need to thank Nvidia.
I payed $300 for each 8800GTX and Im happy as hell. 2 year investment and it still plays all games just dandy.

I dont need companies TELLING me what to choose. I'll choose on my own.

And, I was going to go ATi next round. Still think I will. But these kinds of things just annoy me.
Yea, because ATI paid HOCP to write this article...

It's someones opinion, don't bash the company based on someone else's thoughts.

Yes, there is thanks for that, but its not really due. My 8800 GTS has worked fine since I purchased it. Why did i purchase a GTS? becuase at the time ATI didnt have a card that matched its performance (3780).

Really, its the companies that should be thanking the enthusiast for being there in the first place, not the other way around.

Wow, so you guys like competition when it comes to graphic cards but not software?!

See, competition is good.

Fanism is just plain stupid. I'm neither an AMD fan nor an Nvidia fan (I'm more of an Asus and eVGA fan, to be honest) and AMD fans need to stop ****ting on constantly about the HD4870. IT's a GREAT card, but it is NOT the BEST card.

Same here but I paid $1000+ each(that's the price here). Still 2y.o cards that still "Smack my B***h up" are thanks to NVIDIA not ATi

What trends are you referring to? CFX 4870s already beat the GTX280, why would putting them on a single card suddenly make them suck? In fact, if you look at the link I posted earlier, the X2 card is supposed to be 15% better than CFX 4870s.

If the HD4870 raving offends you, then you probably need to reassess whether you're a fanboy or not.

You can't just say it isn't the BEST card either. Sure it may not be the BEST card for pure performance, but for the money is a damn good value.

Link to HD4870 beating a 280GTX, please.

Unoverclocked, vanilla card beating the unoverclocked, vanilla GTX and I'll happily amend my position on this one.

Good luck.

1. Stop using abbreviations and comparing 2 cards (cfx 4870) to one card.

2. No doubt its the best card but that might and probably will change once the 4870x2 comes out.

But what if tri sli beats 2 4870x2? Most of you bring up the argument of value when comparing high end cards but really most of us who can ACTUALLY afford high end cards can really careless about price, we just want the best performance.

What he said was that judging by current trends, the HD4870X2 wouldn't be the fastest card available. Since the card isn't out yet, CFX HD4870's are a good indication of what to expect.
