Q9300 Temps question.

Thread Starter
I am assuming this is the right section, if not sorry.

My setup for beginners.

Q9300 (with Artic Silver 5) @ 2.65
EVGA 780i Motherboard
ARCTIC COOLING Freezer 7 Pro 92mm
EVGA 8800GT 512mb SLI
Seagate Barracuda 7200 250gb
4gb Crucial Ballistix DDR2 1066
Cooler Master Cosmos S case
Cooler Master Real Power Pro 750w PSU

Below are my current temps.

System: 26c
CPU: 38c
AUX: 42c
Core 0: 59c
Core 1: 46c
Core 2: 49c
Core 3: 58c

What I am wondering is are these temps high? They seem it a little. I know that the 10c abouts differences between cores is normal but they still seem high. I want to OC more but I am unsure about the current temps.

What program are you using to monitor your temperatures?

Use real temp only. Coretemp, speedfan, hwmonitor, and everest will be 10C higher. It is not uncommon to see idles in the high 30s, lower 40s for this processor and loads in the 40s/50s/lower 60s.

What is your vcore set to? Check using cpuz. Those temps seem high for idling and load. You might need to reseat you HSF amd try either using less TIM or more.
