I have a 60% OC on my E6300 to 3.1 GHz with JUST the stock fan and it sits well below 60c at full load! Awsome piece of kit

yeah, but with a good 38mm thick fan, it keeps my Q6600 at 57C full load.

Temps mean nothing without ambients
Also, temps mean nothing without specifying ORTHOS or INTELBURNTEST, which are HUGE differences.

With orthos I'll get about 55c at 4ghz...but with intelburntest its about 65c

The 57C was with prime. I hit max load in like 10 mins. I thought you saw the pic? 19C ambient.

I just got my Noctua NH-U12P SE1366 and I love it! I've got my i7 920 clocked at 3.63ghz and the hottest i've seen it with prime95 is 65C so far. I forgot to put on the little rubber vibration dampening strips, but I can't even hear it with my semi-loud side fan going.

Yeah I agree. I think the stock fans need to be swapped with a 38mm thick fan once you start cranking up a quad.

I just bought this cooler with the new E8400 cpu i bought.

According to the DFI Smart guardian my Idle is around 22c and load temp around 37c.
thats on stock 3.0ghz, had it on 3.6ghz for a while ans temp went up 2c both idle and load.

Great cooler, cant wait to get a 38mm fan

I ordered my new cooling setup!!

1x NH-U12P CPU Cooler
5x Scythe Ultra Kaze (133 CFM)
AC5 Thermal Paste
1x Delta Fan (256 CFM!)

Yeah its gunna be loud, but that isn't really an issue. The case is packed full of sound deadening plus i use headphones.

Plan is to have 2 Ultra intake fans on the front, 1 Ultra fan intake on the bottom of the case, 2 ultra fans on the NH-U12P using the Push-Pull method, and the delta as the rear exhaust. Plus I have 2 top cooler master 120mm fans as exhausts, and I will use the Noctua fan that comes with the cooler for the hard drives. There is a total of about 1070 CFM lol. Good thing I have a fan controller on its way as the Delta wont often be on MAX.

QUESTION - The 1 main review I have read about the NH-U12P, he could only really give it 1 con. And that was that you HAVE to take the motherboard out in order to install it. Is this true? I have a Cosmos 1000 Coolermaster, as I really should pull it apart and set up these fans etc, I'm really not looking forward to it.
