Yeah its gunna be loud, but that isn't really an issue. The case is packed full of sound deadening plus i use headphones.

Plan is to have 2 Ultra intake fans on the front, 1 Ultra fan intake on the bottom of the case, 2 ultra fans on the NH-U12P using the Push-Pull method, and the delta as the rear exhaust. Plus I have 2 top cooler master 120mm fans as exhausts, and I will use the Noctua fan that comes with the cooler for the hard drives. There is a total of about 1070 CFM lol. Good thing I have a fan controller on its way as the Delta wont often be on MAX.

QUESTION - The 1 main review I have read about the NH-U12P, he could only really give it 1 con. And that was that you HAVE to take the motherboard out in order to install it. Is this true? I have a Cosmos 1000 Coolermaster, as I really should pull it apart and set up these fans etc, I'm really not looking forward to it.

Why? You could have got much better fans for not much more money...

Yes you have to take the mobo out to install it, you need to put the backplate on.

With 38mm thick fans, there is no need for push-pull. Use the delta on the heatsink as it alone will be much better than the ultra kazes. Also, those kazes will whine when you undervolt them.

I'm going to test a number of different ways where to put these fans to see which will be best. I'm mainly doing it because I enjoy modifying things, even if I don't like them, I just wont use them. No real loss to me. The fans were cheap anyway. It's going to be a good learning experience for me. My brother just built a new system so I can also donate some fans to him. I will post pic's anyway when I'm done.

What is NH-U12P push-pull? I saw this on newegg "This thing is massive - It will NOT fit in a standard mid-tower ATX case. Well, it will fit, but you can't put the side panel back on." True or false

I got myself a TRUE. I think that's better.

it fits in my antec 300 which is on the small side for mid tower cases and push pull is when you are using two fans on the heatsink

Fits in my standard ATX case with about 25mm to spare between it and the case door.

As for removing the motherboard for installation, that is true. However, with almost all good coolers these days that is required. Push pins are garbage for heavy coolers like these.

I like the stock fans because they push a ton of air per unit noise. In fact, I'm thinking about replacing all my fans in 2 different rigs with them. The NF-P12 is an awesome fan.

On the subject of 120x120x38mm fans, can you guys name a few that are worth using? I have room in my case for two of these but all the ones I have seen are louder than the NF-P12. If you know of a quiet one that pushes more air, I would love to hear about it.

Scythe Ultra Kaze, for a 38mm fan with great specs they're relatively cheap too.

Yes, but how quiet is it? I'm looking into 38mm also.
