I dont' know much about static pressure and all. you think the two shrouds on each side with the slipstreams would be better than just the two panaflos?

Edit: Yah I saw you were doing a review, if you don't have an extra noctua fan, I'd be more than happy to send you mine!
For an E8400 you would never need push/pull or even High CFM fans. This cooler will keep a dual core super cool at any clock.

I plan on upgrading, so I figure might as well get the fans I want (and get used to the sound) until my next cpu.

Slipstreams are well known for not having good static pressure. Shrouds will help some, but the panaflos will be better, last longer, and be quieter.

As for the review...I actually have 2 NH-U12P's sitting here so I have 2 fans already. Thanks for the offer though!

No problem man! I would have recommended my fan, but it's $25 for one and they're just about impossible to find lol.

The E6300 is 65nm and therefore hotter clock/clock than the E8400. My e8400 is at 3.6ghz at work and using the stock cooler only running a measly 65c full load. Also, 58c is not hot for a CPU. My Core i7 gets up to 70c on full load with HT on.

58 is hot. You shouldn't go over 60c if you intend for it to live long. We had this argument a few weeks back. And don't even come out with something about the TJmax.

That depends. My CPU hardly ever gets to 100% load even while gaming, so if a stress test pushes it to 65c thats fine.

58C is not hot lol. 80C is hot. Have you any proof that "over 60C" can kill a 65nm chip? They're all more durable than you think. I had a Q6600 that i kept at 1.58v for over a year, loaded at about 69-70C, and it still works fine to this day in my dad's rig. The CPU i have now has been pushed north of 80C and 1.6v during bench runs. And again, no ill effects of that on the CPU.
