ASUS Crosshair failed - help?

so i took my mobo out, again, and hooked up all my water cooling stuff... nb, sb, mosfets/vregs, cpu, gpu and ram and stuck it n my case and now it won't turn on. i'm positive everything is hooked up correctly, the PSU works and i've tried a second PSU. the mobo lights up, but when i press the power button, i hear a slowly diminishing, faint, hiss from the PSU but nothing powers on. the caps stay energized 4 a while longer than normal, almost 10 seconds after i unplug the power cord. dunno if that helps anything.

i'm n the process of tearing it all apart 2 take it outta the case and double check stuff. but maybe some1 here has an idea or 2 that could help me out n the mean time. thanks

First things first, try a clear cmos, if that doesnt work then try to reseat the cpu.

If that doesnt work rip everything out of the case and do an out of case install on a non-conductive surface. If it posts, chances are you just shorted the board near one of the mounting terminals (spacers, or whatever you call them)

If it still doesnt post then maybe put on the stock cooling and make sure you didnt cook any of the mosfets/chipsets when replacing the heatsinks (as5 IS conductive!!!)

If that doesnt work, try one stick of ram at a time, and in different slots

disconnect all toys, remove all hdds/cd/dvd drives, addon cards etc.

umm... try that fr now, see what that does.

thx 4 the help. i got it working... yay.

anyways, i took it outta the case and set it up on a desk and tried turning it on and it still failed. then i took off the top vreg water block and tried it, nothing. then went 2 the left vreg water block (started with those cuz this was the 1st time i installed those blocks on the mobo) and boom, started right up. then i re-attached them and same problem. i did a lil jiggle and shifted the blocks and then it worked again. so yay again

i think the problem was the metal block was making contact with 1 of the vregs or mosfets... the big squares that stick up about a half inch off the mobo, not sure exactly what they r. anyways, the blocks aren't touching 'em now and it works. something 2 keep n mind 4 any1 else.
