Build Me A Rig ^^

Thread Starter
Well Im working all this summer, and going to school for technical rendering, so it's kinda hectic, but Im trying to work on saving some money for building a new rig (as some of you guys may know).

Im not really sure of my budget, but try for crossfire (4870's) and an E8400 as cheap as can possibly be done. I need a whole system minus the case, Im working on my A900 mods for that.

Thanks and (Delete, please read the TOS) any good ideas.

edit: and ill be selling my pair of 8800's for $300 soon so keep your eyes peeled.

The CPU should be cheaper coming up at the end of the month, dont know how much cheaper... but saving money is saving money. If you want as cheap as possible you may want to wait a little bit.

I plan on waiting, I'm still saving to build it.

I just want a good solid build to go by. (and will the 4870x2 be cheaper then 2x4870's?)

edit: and what do you guys think of this psu?

6 rails, and its kinda hard to see but, it's distribution is 16/16/18/18/18/18 on the rails lol (i feel as if my brand new HX520 was a waste and I love zalman products x.x)

Ok let me restart this, sorry everyone lol

Im looking for a rig that I can* use CAD on, but not a workstation (2.5k gpus ftl), and will also double as a kick ass gaming rig.

I only need the computer, I have the case and everything else (K/V/M). And the budget, Ill have to see how my job works for me this summer, god summer jobs are suck

But, will be late August, probly going somewhere into Sept.

CPU id like is the E8400
GPU would be the 4870x2

and how about this for a PSU? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...k=Zalma%2b850w - 104amps / quad gpu certified lol

You can get a cheaper better quality PSU. Try something from PC Power & Cooling.

Such as: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817703009

Or: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817703005
