Mobo: anything a little cheaper that wont bottleneck a 4870x2, and is a good E8400 OCer?
HDD: 7200.10 250GB, way cheaper (seeing as I already have 1, wouldnt mind 2x250)

and sorry forgot to mention, no need for an OS or optical drives (already have x64 ultimate and 2 dvd drives)

the ram i mentioned is only 100 bucks and the higher the clock on the ram the easier u get a 1:1 clock which you will like in the longrun.

if u dont wana spend 170 bucks on a soundcard thats reasonable but IMO onboard sound is good enough these days on highend mobo's like the one i recommended that you dont really need a soundcard unless your getting a really expensive one and have a 5.1 setup. if you dont want the prelude u might wana stick with onboard its actualy really good.

yea their is a lower end version of the mobo i reccommended that will save u a few bucks its similar in quality the real reason i decided to pick up that one on a personal level is because i like the color scheme on it and the lower end one is orange which i personaly cant stand(i cant stand any colors but black blue and green) heres a link for ya- http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813136047

yea if u already have a 250gb go ahead and just double down that will save you a lot of hard earned cash and will still be PLENTY of room for any normal guy.

the threads subbed so feel free to hit me with any more questions

CPU: E8400 ( http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16819115037 ) -good
RAM: OCZ Plat. 2x2GB ( http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820227298 ) -good
MB: TForce TP43D2A7 ( http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813138122 ) -dont cheap out on your mb read my pm if you need to cut something in your budget get a single 4850 and free up 300 bucks to put elsewhere
SPU: Onboard? for sake of budget ( http:// i hates being 16 ) -when i was telling you that onboard is good i ment that onboard is good on good mobo's keep in mind that the sound on the thing u have linked is going to be a complete joked compared to the x48 board i originaly mentioned it actually had a sound card that came with the board enstead of onboard heres a link check out the card that comes with it - http://www.newegg.com/Product/ShowIm...el+Motherboard
HDD: 250GB 7200.10 16MB ( http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16822148262 ) -good
PSU: PC P&N Silencer 750 ( http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817703009 ) -go with a corsair 750 its only 100 bucks on buy.com and is much quieter. its a very solid psu and a fabulous deal some reviews ive seen rated it at almost 1k w peak power.
Cooling: Still deciding between a 9700 or a TRUE -dont get the 9700 ive heard bad things about how loud it is and crappy performance. there are three good choices out right now IMO, get the OCZ vendetta 2 or a tuniq tower for 50 or spend a bit more and get the true.

I strongly agree with getting the Corsair that wildfire99 recommended. Very good PSU for a nice price.

Here is an alternative board that is cheaper:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813131296

It's based on the P45 chipset, and does have dual PCI-E x16 2.0 slots. It will run crossfire, but limited at x8, x8. However, that should be enough for Crossfired HD 4870's (note that it's x8, x8 in PCI-E x16 2.0).
