Is my Q6600 3.2ghz OC ok?

Thread Starter
I just overclock my q6600 G0 to 3.2 ghz at 1.4V in the bios. and got 1.376V in cpuz.

Is this to high of a voltage for 3.2? I ran Occt and after 5 1/2 Hours i get BSOD.
Is this a bad thing?

P.s im getting 43c on idle and 63c-65c on Load!

The intel temp threshold is 72 for q6600, though im at 1.45 volts and at 59 degrees, I personally wouldn't want to go much over 60. Though those temps don't mean much without ambient temps as well.

I have CPU-Z saying the Core Voltage is 1.375 volts on 3Ghz (I can go up to 3.35Ghz on those voltages) and I have CoreTemp saying the VID is 1.3250 volts...

Is this the voltage you started out with? Because if you want you might be able to take it down a bit (for temperature reasons perhaps). I'm running it at 3Ghz and a 49c load with Prime95 Torture test, 3.2Ghz gives me 50c and perhaps 51c if the room temperature is higher then 23c or something.

you might not need that much voltage. I can do 3.4 at only 1.325

running a lapped q6600 and lapped TRUE should keep your temps below 60c for those volts and clock freq, but anything 65c and under for load temp is OK by me. What TIM did you use, and do you have a fan on it... I run 2 fans in a -> push -> pull setup with the exhaust coming out the back

OCCT aill generally find errors within 2hrs if its going to be a problem, however you are running a "mix" test which stresses both cpu and mem, and doesnt bring temps up as high as cpu test, the cpu test is more intensive and finds errors faster. I recommend 2hr cpu test, if it passes i call it stable.

my current settings are
cpu vcore
bios 1.45625
windows idle 1.43
windows load 1.41

FSB 1700 (425x8)
cpu 3400MHz

temps
idle 28-38
load 60/60/55/55

well i just ran the occt test again, and tested the cpu only and i was stable at 2 hours.

Would it be fine now, im still worry about my voltage's being to high.
