[VRZ]Nvidia PhysX Driver Overwrites Vantage Files? - Page 4

What a bunch of nonsense. How are their drivers allowed to be FM certified if they alter the files of the program itself? Absurd...

CJ let us know that the Nvidia PhysX driver changes some DLL files files within 3DMark Vantage and overwrites them with new versions.
What were you wanting me to read again?

Does the fact that Futuremark deleted all scores which were influenced by this unethical move by Nvidia lend any credibility to this?

Futuremark bans GPU physics

What were you wanting me to think about again?

How about you take some of your own advice.

The fact that no where does it say anything about it doing anything malicious. The code they wrote overwrote it so that any PPU present gives its workload over to the Nvidia GPU, and it seems that if there is an ATI card, the program will not work as the Nvidia written code only looks to offload the PPU load to an Nvidia GPU, and can't find it.

This has no bearing on any one, unless you have a PPU, and you went from Nvidia to ATI. I am saying think before you post, because you should read the whole article, not just the title.

In your opinion, do you think that modifying .dll files in a program's directory which you do not own the rights to is ethically wrong?

Either way, Futuremark and / or Nvidia neglected a blatantly obvious incompatability issue that would arise from a Nvidia --> ATI gpu swap.
