Need Soundcard advice

Thread Starter
I've just bought some HD201's and have a feeling my (uber) Trust Sound card doesnt quite cut the mustard.

So what card would be best out of these. It has to be from Eclipse, if brand new, as these are the closest store to me (no credit/debit card here)

Audigy SE 7.1
X-fi Music
X-fi Xtreme Music

Should I find anything on ebay, would an Audigy 2 or 4 be any better than the above? Also (from ebay) would a live drive be worth investing in?

What will you be using the sound card for? I'm a little confused about "X-FI Music" as there is no such card. You might mean "Audio" which is a bad card, stay away from that at all costs. I can vouch that the XtremeMusic is an excellent sound card, I used one for about a year or more. The only drawback, as with any Creative card, is that its made by Creative. You might have some software and driver issues but when the card is working the way it should be its a really good card. Hope this helps!

Cheers, was considering the Xtreme Music but wasnt sure

I was confused by the X-FI Music
http://www.eclipsecomputers.com/prod...e=SCC-XFIMUOEM

Especially as they also stock the Xtreme Music, which is also cheaper
http://www.eclipsecomputers.com/prod...ode=SCC-XFIXMO

But they do have the Xtreme Audio, and yeah i'll be steering far from that one

It'll be mainly for gaming, though there will be bouts of mp3 listening and the very odd DVD

get the extreme music here from the marketplace for 50. You won't regret it, it is a great card.

Hmm. The picture in that link to the "Music" card looks just like the XtremeMusic, pretty strange. It is probably just some kind of error on the website.

The XtremeMusic will be great for listening to music and watching the occasional DVD, its a solid all around card.

Both those are the same xi-fi card, they must have listed it twice accidentally. The xtreme music is a lot better then the audigy series.
