Anybody know anything about windows media services server? Normally i would just read about it but I dont feel like it since its just sort of a side project I am doing with my home domain server.

I am able to get it to work internally. I can go to the URL and it will stream music but I cant browse any lists... i just have to hit next to get different music. However, I am unable to get to it from the outside. I have ports 80, 1755 tcp/udp translated but its a no go. Its my belief that it has something to do with URL names and what not but Im not sure.

From the inside I can enter "mms://servername/music" and it pulls up my wmp and works fine. I can even go to "http://servername/music" and it will pull up a web browser and I can play it natively in the browser. But this is all internal. From the outside I can actually pull up the page by HTTP but I am unable to get anything to play from the web page or from using MMS. In both instances i get either that it cannot connect due to it being busy or that it does not support the file format (they are all MP3).

Of course, the only difference is that on the inside I am using an internal name for the server and on the outside it is a domain name (a ".com") that I purchased.

Any experience anyone can offer about this service, please do.

Thanks in advance,
DP
