780i WC solutions

I am going to WC my 780i to silence the retarded fan on the NB

I have two options... the ViperJohn kit that covers everything for $90 which would be the easy way

or the EK block [$45], Enzotech copper mosfets [$13], and some form of SB cooling [$25] ~$75 total

I already am swapping out other parts too - picking up a DDC/MCP355 with XSPC ResTop and I want to minimize shipping costs... so far Jab-Tech had everything untill I emailed them

Quote:
MCP 355 pumps are on order, No ETA from Swiftech
Enzotech order will be placed this week, hopefully arrive next week.
EK order will not be here for another 3 - 4 weeks.
They have MCP350 pumps but I don't want to settle for less

I need help between the ViperJohn kit.... or getting my own EK block with other cooling sutff

i was going to do the same thing with my 780i. I decided on the Viper John kit. I just like how it looks better than the others.

I just noticed that sale thread however the acetal top was.... not ideal... I still PMed them though as it can be a good option if I get the clear top in the future like I had hoped for

The viper john kit is expensive.. however it is a complete kit... but for less than that kit, i can get the EK block, an HR05 SLI IFX, and mosfet coolers in copper, all for less than 75 bucks.... its making it a hard decision though as shipping costs coming from everywhere play into role

I think going with the EK block and thermalright mosfets and a decent cheap SB cooler would be best. You have me convinced to do the same thing. I have been wanting to replace that stupid NB heatsink ever since i bought the board.
To Freeroller
I was hoping you could recommend a nice Setup to use for the block? Nothing too expensive as i will have to buy the block and sb cooler and mosfet coolers as well. Which rad and pump etc? I already have fans in mind.

Why not wait to see if they actually allow you to buy the hybrid cooler from the FTW?

I will be getting the Enzotech basic copper heatsinks - they should be more than enough to cool... thermalright mosfet heatsinks might be too much

as for the SB... I want to use the thermalright Hr05 because I want to be fanless, and my current setup would utilize the current airflow so

Those use smaller compressions AFAIK and I see no reason to switch anyhow... I have zero vdroop after modding it this board already performs awesome
