I am modifying the tech station I just made with a custom front panel featuring some UV acrylic and a lotta fretsaw work...
Below is how the station started off.

And what follows is the work involved in the front panel.

I removed this panel with the PA160 floating in ti (friction fit)

And made a composite panel of 1/4" clear, 1/8" UV orange and 1/8" black.

I made a template to route out a perfect 120mmm fan hole and drill the holes...

The idea is to get the UV orange to show through the black by having at the black with a fretsaw for a few hours...

Check out this programmable POV fan from Cooljag. Not cheap...you can program the fan via USB to display just about anything you want.

I temporarily mounted the comnposite panel to have a look at this fan.

There is a tiny PCB that spins around and lights up a sequence of LEDs to spell out phrases and display images through POV (persistence of Vision) technology.

I will post up some short vids in a bit. A camera does not captuire the effect...

I dialed in the panel once I had the edges dressed a bit better and it was firmly bolted to the angles.

I used a 45 bit to reveal some of the orange beneath the black to make a ring around the fan hole.

I used some tribal flame patterns I found to inspire me.

Once I had a rough sketch I folded the paper and used a light box to trace something simlar on the other half.

I didn't want to get too "50's Hotrod" with the scalloped flames and went for more of a tribal free style look.

This is closer to what I will be cutting out but I will use it just as a rough guide.

I then drilled holes for the fretsaw blade in all the areas I want to remove.

This is going to take a while....

The start of a long afternoon....

About an hour later (I guiess).
More in a bit.

That is going to look SWEET!
