Project: Backpack+Amp + ??? = brilliant.

Ok, so I bought a fancy jacket, so I don't want to cut it up so I came up with
another idea: Run an LOD from my ipod, to an amp [cmoy for now] to my headphones.

This is the backpack I'll be using :

If you notice, the backpack at the hip level has a pocket on each side, that zippers open and close, and one pocket on the top that has a headphone cable.
What I plan on doing is

1) Having My ipod sit in the left pocket, and have an LOD cable run up the strap, into the center pocket in the back [its a small pocket meant for just an ipod], than have my headphones come out of that same pocket, and run down the right strap.

2) having the left hip pocket hold my ipod, an LOD cable that runs up to my amp, and my headphones cable running from the middle back pocket to the right pocket, cause we all know how long headphone cables are :\\

What do you think? You should the LOD signal will be fine at 2 feet over the cable?

the signal will be fine, but I would recomend just getting a standard length LOD for a couple reasons:
1. signal path will be shorter
2. the LOD itself will be much cheaper
3. the LOD will be less prone to breakage

Just keep both the amp and iPod either in the top or side pocket. I keep my iPod and amp in the top pocket of my backpack.

I wish I could do that, but I change what song I listen to all the time. and getting a remote would interfere with the LOD, would it not?
