AVCHD Video Editing, Do I need 8gb?

Thread Starter
I'm about to build a computer, and I don't now how much or where to spend my money. On a budget I would get a q6600 with 4gb ddr2 800 or 1000, then I was considering the q9300 and q9450 with sse4 instructions, but I thought I might be better off still with the q6600 and 8gb. However, I would have to get a 64bit OS . I'd be using Premiere for mini dv tapes and Sony Vegas for my HD stuff.

What are your opinions? I want something with a good cost/performance ratio while still being more "future-proof."

Thanks,

Wyatt
