9800GTX SLI vs 9800gx2 vs 260/280

One of the final debates I'm having is whether I should go with 9800GTX in SLI or just one 9800GX2. I put the 260/280 in there for consideration but only if they are truly as good as people say they are. If anybody has test stats comparing these two setups side by side it would be greatly appreciated. Also any pros/cons of going with any of these would be nice.

260/280 are waste of money if you are on a budget. If you have unlimited cash, of course go with 3 way 280 SLI, but since you probably don't I'd say go for 9800GTX+ SLI.

Technically ATi is the best buy right now but if you really want to stay with nvidia then a normal 9800GTX is a waste also. The GTX+ is only $229 and you can SLI two of them for pretty cheap, which will soar over a GX2.

Keep in mind, SLI is only really useful for gaming at high resolutions, so if you have a 19" monitor, just get one GTX+.

I've been steady with nVidia for quite a while now, but I have been seeing cards from ATI that are overtaking nVidia lately, is it worth the switch, another reason is that my company I'm working with now mainly deals with nVidia cards so I can get a pretty penny off of those which is a big reason I have stayed with them.
Which ATI cards would you reccomend for $250-350 a piece which I could crossfire later?

Things like this make it a bit difficult to give in to ATI. Unless these are not an actual representation then I might stick with the 9800GTX

Just go with 2 GTX SLI's your gonna be saving around $100, plus the GX2 is initially 2 9800GTX's put together. Plus you can also have the option of putting in a 3rd one and i would think almost getting the same performance as a GTX280 if im not mistaken
