Help with first time OC (q9450)

Thread Starter
Hey there,
I'm kinda new to overclocking and get this cold feeling while doing it but I got my CPU to my goal of 3.2Ghz. Now I just want a little help with all that bios stuff since I have no knowledge about any of it. I have the evga 780i Mobo.

At these settings, my idle temp is at 43,43,41,39 and I'm using zalman 9700.
Please help me not fry my new PC

First off don't overvoltage that cpu 1.36 max vcore I believe, but you need to fill in your system spec in user cp so we know what you're working with. The voltage you have is ok if that's what it's set at now.

Thanks for the reply, filled in the system spec in user cp.
My System crashed when I started Prime95
Went into bios and set the core voltage to 1.206 and it seems to work now.

59,59,55,53 using Real Temp 2.60 (heard that it should be used with 45nm cpus) and I'm not 100% sure but I think something may be wrong with my first 2 sensors.
EDIT:
Just want to ask, if my computer has no errors after 6 hours of prime95, does that mean that it's stable and I can leave everything in the bios as it is?

Nope. That happens a lot. Mine are 61-61 57-55 when testing. Real Temp is right for 45nm chips. Looks good.

most people will run Prime95 for 8-12 hours or more to be "Prime stable" but its really up to you. I ran Prime for my Q9450 for 8 hours

6 hours is minimum. You should be good though. If you have any issues I'd run it for 24 hours.
