Other than that, not much.
DX10 is only marketing smoke and mirrors to sell Vista... even the list of DX10 supported games is short. But on the other hand, I found Vista to be more stable, faster in coping files, better at multitasking and caching than XP. Note that I disabled more than 10 services.

Give me one amazing game that requires vista and I will consider switching.
Faster file copying, better networking, better interface etc etc.

And MONEY would be an excellent reason not to. I think i paid +$200 for my copy. If Microsoft wasn't in a position to strongarm their retailers, then maybe there'd be a sale once in a while or maybe older versions would be offered and ADVERTISED, not in secret.
I got mine for $143 AUD. So in the US it's probably less. That's not a lot to pay.

Never had a hardware problem with Vista apart from Creative drivers.

Hmm, well I guess I'm glad that Microsoft was nice enough to give me a free copy.

I like Vista, but I think you guys are right that there's no compelling reason to shell out money for it (for me anyway, every person has different requirements). The only one for me would be DX10, but even with Vista installed, I still haven't bought any DX10 games yet (although I'm looking forward to finding a good one to purchase).

Given a free choice, I would pick Vista ofc, so I'm glad it was free for me.

(I think a lot of ppl assume that no one pays for their Windows when talking about Vista, and I'm not talking about free give-aways like the one that I used either...)

To me this was obvious without seeing a benchmark. There is barely any difference in performance.
