They're just doubling up the wires on the 12v pin. It's the functional equivalent of using a Y-molex splitter and then using the normal 2xMolex->6-pin converter.
(one molex -> splitter (now 2 molex) -> converter)

Hmm, I guess I'll see how it goes. I've seen people on this forum running 4870's at 450W PSU's fine.

Well, I thought the Hiper had two rails? The +12V1 is 20A and +12V2 is 18A. Isn't that 38A total? Or am I wrong? (which is probably the case )

The Hiper does have two rails. The numbers kpo6969 quoted show how much the power supply can put out total. So it may be able to put out 18A when you only draw from one and 20A when you only draw from the other, but only 30A total when you're putting a load on both rails...or something along those lines.

Well I'll just see how it goes. If it doesn't run, I'll get another, however my thoughts are that the wattage/amperage should be fine.
