I do not believe the overclock on the CPU will matter much unless you are folding with the CPU as well. Some correct me if I'm wrong.

I know that with the ATI client a decent cpu OC would give more PPD than a gfx oc.

When I get home from work I'll test it out with the 8800GT. I'm running 3Ghz right now. I'll set it to stock and see what I get. I'm not sure how much better it will preform with my socket 939 CPU, but hey worth a shot.

Some nice PPD here guys. I really ought to just get myself a high powered GPU..just to fold..I would not actually game on it lol. I would most likely put it in my work PC and let it go 24/7.

not a bad idea. The 8800GT's are getting a bit cheaper now. I'm thinking of getting a second for my rig in the near future.

Not sure about that, but I guess on paper with two cores it could be possible. I think the forum on F@H had a thread about this. I'll see if I can find it.

EDIT: Try this thread 3870X2 2nd gpu core usage

Thanks for the update. Thats a pitty as I was hoping you could have a client running on each core...I would much rather have a Dual GPU pcb than have two cards really.

well with two 8800GT's I would be limited to 16x8. I'm not sure how bad the x8 would be with the 8800GT.

DFI Expert - Each x16 slot operates at x8 bandwidth. When the graphics cards are connected via the SLI bridge, the total bandwidth of the two graphics cards is x16.

Can you fold in SLI now?

Are talking more of gaming here as IMO Bandwidth of 8x is not going to have implications when it comes to folding..atleast I would not have thought so.
