Royally bummed

Im screwed. Big time.

I received my P5N-E SLi the other day and found it to be faulty - after trial and error i found that it was defently the motherboard failing.

Last Wednesday i sent it back to the retailer i bought it from......a third party from www.amason.co.uk . Today im getting a little bit annoyed - no email to confirm anything and no new motherboard. So i decide to email him to get some information out of him. To my horror i get the 'I haven't received it yet' reply.

Now heres the problem - i only sent the motherboard by first class, not recorded (which means no receipt or posting number) - this was because it was pricely and i didn't have much on me.

What in gods name do i do? he claims he never received it? i can't track it to prove it and theres no tracking number to begin with. I was thinking maybe going through Amazon. But how can they help?

right now i am out of 70 quid and haven't even seen the motherboard i ordered post.
What would you guys do?

unfortunately nothing, you cant go to the post office because you can't prove that you sent it, so you can't claim from royal mail. When you posted you needed to get a receipt of postage (costs a penny)

when did you post it, cause depending on the size it can take upto a week to recieve.

Think you might be up a creek......

I can understand not paying the recorded delivery though, I was going to send 2 letters by recorded and nearly died when the woman said that would be £9.20

Anyway, I dont think there is anything you can do really. I would wait until Monday before really panicing though. It might just be caught in the system.

All you can do is wait i suppose. Could be caught up in the system like others have said. If not im not sure what you can do without any proof of postage, remember for next time! Make sure the seller is trustable as well (reviews/feedback etc), perhaps contact amazon and see what they can do (try phone them a few times, some people will be nicer than others and may offer something!)

Yup, you made a schoolboy error. Always send recorded or special delivery so you have proof of postage. I think you're up **** creek.

Although, saying that, City Link lost my 400gb hard disk, Ebuyer refunded me, and then 2 weeks later the disk turned up lol. It sometimes takes a while if the package falls off the sorting machines.

You have to wait 2 weeks (I think it is) for the item to be officially declared lost. Because you havent paid for recorded delivery; you wont be able to lodge a claim for refund from the postal service if its never found.

You have to wait 2 weeks im afraid. If the two weeks is up and still nothing then I would actually tell a white lie and tell the guy that you have had confirmation it was delivered to his address. I say this because if he is lying you could catch him out.
