Yes, if that stays going for over 6 hours that is a very nice overclock.

But it will probably fail.

is it safe to leave the cpu volts at auto considering the voltage cpu-z is reporting? (comp will NOT boot if i specify a voltage)

higher fsb and my cpu gets higher overclocks @ 8x then 9x
it has been successful at those settings, but with the NB changed from 1.47v to 1.49v @ a 6 hour orthos test

Whats the VID of your chip? 1.27 seems pretty low.. did you do the vdroop mod? That chip should be able to hit 4ghz easy, especially considering the heat (or lack thereof) that its putting out.

i THINK the vid is 1.225, might be 1.118v or something because thats what cpu-z shows when i run it at stock volts

there is no v-droop mod i only turned on load line calibration

edit: the volts are being left on auto, this chip will not do 4.0ghz with auto. i cant even post if i specify a voltage for the chip. leaving it on auto w/ 500fsb, 1.55v-1.65v for the NB gets it to the windows load/scroll bar thing then it BSOD's

The volts eem high to me, i only need 1.216vcore to get to 2.8Ghz stable. And im overclocking from 2.53Ghz! I'm not trying to brag or anything im just saying, if you can try to get the vcore as low as possible, it will also lower temps.
