Undeleting files

Thread Starter
I had a lot of files on my external hard drive mainly films and i accidently deleted them all, i have not tried to recover or anything yet. They were deleted because the folder was too big for recycle bin. whats the quickest and safest way to restore all of the files?

I have TuneUp 2008 and there is a undelete app on there but not too sure how good it is, can someone point me in the direction for safe undelete please, cant lose these files.

cheers in advance.

In the meantime, don't use the external drive (as you probably know already) until you are actually ready to recover the data. Drive usage after file deletion reduces chances of recovery due to possibility of overwrites. With an external drive, the risk is much lower, but best not to take chances.

For this reason, it's good to have a file recovery program preinstalled and active on the main system at all times. It will enable quick recovery of the files with minimal risk rather than searching for solutions after the deletion. It's one facet of a good protection plan for drive data.
