CS:S .. I hope you were joking when you said there is good sniping in that game.

I've played all the big games.. and haven't found a game that is REALLY sniper intensive.

I'm going to look into that Elite sniper game, because THAT is what I'm looking for.

As far as Sniping multiplayer games.. sniping in multiplayer in the big games of today, is basically just adding a scope to a gun and allowing you to hit form further away.

Only the Battlefield series have come close to REAL sniping. Sniping requires a lot of map space, which games like CS:S, CoD4 etc .. just don't offer you.

Is that Elite sniper game out yet?
Sniper Elite's been out for a few years, think it was originally realeased on the PS2.

I'm a sniper in games as well, and am also frustrated by the lack of authenticity and realism in sniper situations in games.

Quake III has a railgun

And UT3 has a sniper if I remember right (the older ones did for sure)

And of course there's Counterstrike. I wish people would still play beta 5.2 though, it was the last version where you could run and snipe at the same time.

I like how you picked possibly the single worst map for AWPs to mention.

Did you play it on a console? I hate sniping on console, it's awful.

Serousily injuring the personel in real war is many times, just as or more effective then killing them (apport for leaders or important personel). Many snipers that have no values will perposally injury personel. It is more demoralizing the death, It requires more personel to care for the serousily injuried, and creates bait for more targets.

Not only that but if I blow off your foot (Large cal weapon is not going thru your foot from 1,000 yards its taking it off), you are not going to be moving (or fighting) and you will quickly bleed to death unless your buddies help you... So the fact they died is as realistic as you can make a game fun but to make it more realistic would be an even bigger problem...

Battlefield 2 and Battlefield 1942 are my favorite games to snipe in and, IMHO, the best sniping games. The large scope of the battlefield and the many different hiding spots make a sniper very effective when used correctly.

How about America's Army? Really really realistic. Dunno if it offers the very short range combats but I know that they have some really good sniping.+

EDIT: And the game is free too!

I'll see if I can find it somewhere.

I bet your awesome with the scout in counterstrike. And notice I mentioned counterstrike and not source. I think you would probably die quickly in a scout knives match.
