Needed: Sniping.. NOW - Page 5

PLEASE don't flame me for suggesting this, but while most other aspects of the game are completely lacking, I enjoy sniping in GRAW in multiplayer--it's fun, and many of the maps are large enough (and diverse enough), that sniping is quite fun. But to be honest, unless you can get a second-hand disk/CD key, I wouldn't say it's entirely worth it to go out and buy the game new...LOL. But it's another option.

Wow. Nice find. I love the menu music too

I can tell they took some of the rhythms from the Black Hawk Down Theme.

Pretty badass.

Wow.. something is wrong with sniping in this game..

I can hit a pinpoint from a distance easy, but when I aim at an enemy and shoot.. I never seem to hit them. Like I can put a bullet in the same bullet hole twice.. but then I can't hit an enemy after shooting 5 - 6 shots in and around his head..

Weird. I need to learn it better I think. awesome game though!

If people think they are so "pro" because they can 1 shot with an AWP, then maybe they should try the scout and see how they do.

If you want - I do have a copy of GRAW I could sell ya. But CSS is my personal recommendation. Thats actually a cool idea, I should open up a sniping only CSS server...

Like I said sniping a static target from several yards away doesnt show any kind of skill. It think its funny that your looking for something realistic. But have you even fired anything real for comparison?

BTW what real weapons have you fired?

I have fired the following

M-16
M-60
Shotgun
Thrown real grenades

Take a guess where I have done those things.

Um, actually it does show skill. Lets see you take up a real rifle and take a 1/4 - 3/4 mile long shot and hit something buddy. Don't reply and say you will - because you won't. Ive shot the guns you mentioned and more. Hell, Ive held and shot the majority of guns in CSS and then some. Those weapons are easy to hit targets with and be accurate (the ones you mentions).

Rifles I still find hard to hit something with when moving, and Im with rifles all the time. I go out and shoot rifles every weekened or so upstate NY to shoot targets.

EDIT:
Misunderstanding >.<

That's odd, must be lag or something, I don't recall having that problem.

Also, when on the insurgency side, make sure you use the bolt action sniper instead of the SVD, it's more accurate.

You just agreed with me that using the Scout takes skill which is what I was saying and then you say I was insulting people because I was defending this.

Kind of backwards dont you think?

My only issue with alot of other games mentioned is that the game play can be quite slow and cumbersome.

Also usually when a sniper fires there position is given away so its usually a one shot one kill scenario. Its not like in games where you can sit there forever and pickoff guys left and right. My drill sergeants say if you really want an accurate portrayal of what a sniper does then watch the movie Sniper.

I did graduate the ARMY rifle course with an M2 - M-16A2 and have a sharpshooter badge(just missed expert) which is 40 shots and targets ranging from 50 to 300 yards scopeless. Just so you understand clearly you only get 40 shots with only 40 chances to hit the random raised targets which is considered moving. The targets raise very quickly so you dont have a whole lot of time to react. And no its not easy. I have all the documentation and badges to prove it if you would like a photo I will send it to you.

I would consider myself to be... a Frontline Sniper. I love a silenced sniper rifle and on top of that I like a MP5SD just for fun but CoD4 seems to be more assault-oriented though. Crysis is pretty good though as you get to use the Sniper Rifle whenever you want, although other elements of it aren't that realistic.

Does anyone else here NOT play with crosshairs in every single shooting game they play? If so, I finally have a friend lol.

Just to give it secondary backup, Red Orchestra is quite a nice game and has plenty of sniper action.
