Possibly Full Brick PSP

Thread Starter
Ok well I had 3.80 M33 firmware w/ Time Machine on my Slim and went to upgrade to 4.01 M33-2. I started the upgrade and the loading bar finished and when I went to hit X to restart my PSP it slipped off the desk and the battery popped out. Now I can only boot to a black screen. If I pop in my Pandora battery it will turn off in 20 seconds which I read is a sign of a semi brick. I tried creating the magic memory stick using a usb ms pro duo reader but am having no luck getting it to boot the magic memory stick. Do I need to use the PSP as the reader/writer to create the stick?

BTW the battery is hard modded one wire and I flashed my PSP myself before.

well, if you need a memory card reader go here:
Link

P.S. search around on the site for cheaper ones because I just chose a random one. BTW the site has site-wide free shipping. But it take 2 weeks to ship.

I have a reader. But I I can't tell if it is making the MSM correctly. I have used the TotalNoobieInstaller and it said everything completed but still can't boot MSM.

That's why they always tell you to keep the charger in as well.

Lol, good luck with this one.

Well then something is wrong with the memory stick or you broke something on your psp's mainboard if it jumpstarts and does nothing.

I got it up and running. I had to use PSP Grader to create MSM. All the others would not work.

Did you format your memory stick with MSPFORMAT first? You have to do this. Any questions about PSPs ask me, I actually have 8 psps

You don't HAVE to do it, but it helps if your having problems.

Glad you got it up and running
