The_Rocker - Seen the light!

I have had a drastic change of mind. I am no longer getting two GTX280's for £650.

Instead I have been drawn to these:

http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showpr...sfire%20Bundle

----------------------------------------

Yes it official... The_Rocker, one of the biggest Nvidia Fan boy's on here is ditching nvidia in favour of Intel / ATI.

But now it leaves me with the choice of a new motherboard. I want full 16 x 16 Crossfire and fast DDR2 support. Also must have great quad ocing ability.

I have found this one, but I need opinions:

http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showpr...%20Motherboard

-------------------------------------

I will be making the purchases in about 2 / 3 weeks. Which will mean my eVGA 780i and two 9800GTX's shall be going up for sale

What you think guys. I need opinions on the motherboards.

Sweet, looks like a fun new setup, alot of people have been going towards the new ATI cards due to there price and performance, so dont feel bad . That motherboard is pretty sweet although im sure someone here will mention DFI as well, they are pretty good for overclocking and have a pretty sweet board layout and stuff. Either way seems like a badass setup, have fun

Ahh, seems like I have brought you over to the red side.

I actually think I get the title of biggest Nvidia/SLI guy here....

Go with the Asus P5E. I have been very pleased with it thus far.

What would you say if I said that the extra cost for the X48 rampage wasn't an issue?

I kind of want to buy into the future a bit more and I like that name "X48 Rampage"

The Rampage, and Maximus boards aren't really worth it IMO. You'd be fine with a Gigabyte, or DFI X48, they both overclock like crazy.

My gigabyte x38-ds4 is amazing. Used to swear by asus, my gigabyte is about 10x better than any asus I have used. Mine is the "budget" x38, I would think the DQ6 x38s and x48s would be even better.
I think any of the DQ6's are DDR3 if they are x38 and x48 last I looked.

I bought the Rampage Formula because I wanted all the extra bells and whistles. However, you can just as easily go with Robilar's suggestion and get the Asus P5E and then flash the Rampage BIOS onto it.

As far as the DFI boards, I definitely looked at them, long and hard, but in the end, there were several reviews of the Asus/Rampage Formula that swayed my decision, not to mention a handful of people having some issues currently with the DFI boards, nothing that DFI can't fix with a BIOS release, just that they haven't yet.
