Air flow question

Thread Starter
Apologies if this isn't in the correct forum, thought it should be in here considering I am going to be modding the case.

Basically I'm looking to increase the airflow inside my case and to hopefully lower my overall temps. To do this i'm going to be modding the case to support extra fans (along with my custom paint job and new window panel) but a tad stumped on the optimum placement of the fans. I've drawn a simple diagram below of the existing setup so any help is appriciated.

PS: The fans can be mounted practically anywhere, so open to suggestions.

yep, you just need to make sure there is some space under the bottom of the case so the fan can pull air in. a filter is handy too for the dust.

alternativle you could move your card reader to above you disk drivers and try to mount a fan there, or do both but you might need another exhaust to ballence the airflow but i guess you could also put 1 in the roof between the psu and disk drives too.

i have a similar setup with the X-cruiser case. but you can cut a hole in the top also and have air blow in from there eliminating the need to raise your case off the floor for air flow. cool air would travel down on the ram then get sucked through the cpu cooler and then out the back

I would move the card reader/ optical drives up and put a fan there- and also a blowhole in the top. THat would balance airflow (you want a perfectly balanced or slightly negative pressure in your case) and have you runnin cool. Good luck!

Thanks mate, +rep

Only problem with moving the card reader is that its a 3.5inch so it needs to stay there unless I can find a tray mount that converts a 5.2" or w/e into a 3.5". Any suggestions? UK sellers would be appriciated <3
