New build list.

Thread Starter
I am getting ready to order my new pc in a few days and would like some advice on the parts I have picked out.

Motherboard: EVGA 750I FTW
CPU: Q6600
RAM: G.Skill 2x2GB 1000mhz
Video: EVGA GTX 260
Hard Drive: WD Raptor 150GB
Power Supply: Corsair 750W
CPU Fan: OCZ Vendetta2
OS: Vista 64 Home Premium

I plan on getting another GTX 260 at some point. Will a 750W PSU be enough to power 2? I am also not sure which CPU fan I want to go with. It's a toss up between the OCZ and the Tuniq Tower. How hard are these both to install? This will be my first build.

Get a 4870 instead. 4870 Lifetime warranty as well
Then also get a X48 board if you plan to crossfire that beast - DFI X48
If you don't plan to crossfire, get one of these
I wouldn't buy the old raptors. If your budget allows you, get the new ones here, or get one of these
That power supply is one of the best in my opinion. It should power 2 4870s, or 2 gtx260s
CPU Fan is a good choice. It outperforms the Tuniq, and I think is easier to install
Vista Home Premium 64bit is a good choice
I would also reconsider the ram. Get 4gb of this stuff, or this, or this
Theres a lot of options for RAM, and you can save a few dollars if you get the 800mhz version of any of the above listed, and OC them yourself
Congratz on your new build

I'm not a big fan of ATI cards so I will just stick to Nvidia for now. I already have a raptor which I picked up for $99 at best buy so I will hang on to that. I was planning on getting that same 640gb as a storage drive later on.
