and you also just answered my other question about operating temps.. I just ordered my second Artic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro 92mm CPU Cooler.. it did wonders with my 3.2 ht, which ran hotter than hell itself.. haha

sooo.. Im going to take it up to 1200 fsb at 10x.. If I want to try 1600, should I put my fsb at 1600, then up the voltage 1 notch? again, with RAM and PCI-E locked...
Well you shouldn't up the FSB to 1200 or 1600 in 1 shot. If you're at 1066FSB now, up the FSB in increments, like 10-20mhz. Test for stability, say around 10mins, if it's stable then up another 10-20mhz. Repeat until you get a failure with your testing software. Then up a notch in vcore.

Once you hit the desired CPU speed, run your stability tests for extended periods. Adjust voltages as needed if you get failures.

ok.. here is what happened..

I took it to 1200, and kept the voltage stock.. started running it, and it gradually started skipping a lil bit (like it was running out of mem) and then it just restart..

So Im assuming, that if I take it back to 1200, and increase the vcore 1 notch, it might be stable? My RAM is unlinked, so Im thinking that it had to be the vcore voltage that brought it to its knees?

Im using speedfan to watch my temps.. there are a bunch of different temp..

core 0
core 1
core

What is the differences between these? Its not very concise.. lol.. I tried MBM, but it kept crashing my system.. I have used speedfan before, but not on a dual core

This is at idle, just starting up the pc, with it at 2.67x10.. RAM is stock 533.. no voltage changes made.. does this look right? the one that says "core" says its high, but I have no clue as to which temp sensor its coming from..

o yeah.. and it says that it still at 2.00, but system (in the CP), and bios say otherwise.. is this maybe set up wrong, or just showing the stock clock should be?

If you like speedfan, just keep an eye on core1 and core0--those seem to correctly correlate to the temps of the two cores. As for the "core" reading that it shows, I'm guessing that's actually your chipset (FSB) temperature, judging by the temp reading. Just to note--speedfan is notoriously inaccurate with what sensors it reads, and what it displays as what that temperature corresponds to. But sometimes it's fine. For just plain-old core temperature readings, I like to use "coretemp." It generally (and sometimes more accurately) reads temps better. Google it and give it a shot.

Yeah, probably you needed more vcore to run properly. What vcore are you using in the
BIOS right now?

LOL. you remind me of kids. You tell them not to stick their hand into the cookie jar, you step out for a min, come back in and there is the kid with his hands in the cookie jar.

It is better to have Prime95 or Orthos failures, then system crashes.

no one told me not to do anything.. why is it that EVERY forum has a bunch of people that, instead of saying something useful, try to put people down? Its just amusing to me.. horray for you haha

I will download prime95 when I get home.. muchos gracias

and I DID do what you said.. I took it up in small increments and it was fine, got it to 3, on stock volts, and it didnt work.. so Im guessing I have to up the volts..

Well I do apologize, but your wording sounded like you just raised it up to 1200. Also you weren't clear on the stability testing software you are using.

haha.. I know..

I used Assasins creed (the SICKEST GAME) for stress testing.. haha.. my internet connection went down at home, and I couldnt download anything for that.. what do you recommend for stress testing?

And yes, I did go up to 1200, gradually. It was actually stable up until 3.0

Look for Prime95 version 25.6. Links to 25.6 versions
---------------------
Windows 32-bit - ftp://mersenne.org/gimps/p95v256.zip
Windows 64-bit - ftp://mersenne.org/gimps/p64v256.zip

Use Small FTT to test CPU stability and Blend to test overall system. The amount of time testing is really up to you. I use 8 hours Small FTT and 10hours Blend.

Here is a 10hour blend run. I am using E2180 on EVGA 650i Ultra motherboard.
