Will This Work?

Ok I am buying a new system. I dont have upgrading in mind. My budget is about 150. Would this setup work? I just want to know if this combination works... (I obviously just need a chip, board, and ram)

Lildrummerboy, the board you selected will work with the 5000+ processor. The only downside to this board is it's overclocking options. The 6100-PM is very limited in that department. I actually believe the option to adjust Vcore is disabled/locked. If you decide not to OC then I don't see this setup being a problem.

Good luck with your purchase

I hear its a great board, very stable...Even has Xfire, which is great for a 770 chipset mobo Supports 125w CPU's if you plan to upgrade to a Phenom later on, such as the 9850 Black Edition

the biostar 6100 is alright for overclocking. it has the same options as a 520 and its fairly cheap. just dont buy ECS they only have an option to increase the fsb and i think it maxes out at like 250.
