Help with compuer build - Page 2

i really can't fault coffeejunky's, but i don't like namt's gpu. Even though that's the best priced 8800GS i've ever seen it's still nothing compared to the GT version.

Quad core would be a waste of your budget because CS and Photoshop CS2 are both single threaded (however CS3 is multithreaded, also £1k+).
Yeah. Pretty much if all you want to do is play Counterstrike: Source and use CS2, you don't need a Quad Core, or an E7200. You could make a decent build for much less than that.

Be right back.

CPU+Motherboard+RAM bundle - £199
Black Knight case with 400w PSU - £26.32
Zotac 8800GT - £95.33
Vista Home Premium 32 bit - £58.88
Scythe Samurai Z Rev B - £18.84

Total (including shipping) : £345.82
£406.34 Inc VAT

Keyboard+mouse+monitor could be done for under £100

You could replace that motherboard bundle with this one, ideally, and knock another £40 off

Ooh...Nice find on the 8800GT. OP: Might be worth considering that one. 4GB of RAM would also help with CS2

Not to be too critical, but generic (budget) mobos will not be a good experience. Probably won't overclock either. Generic PSUs are also a bit of a disaster waiting to happen.

I agree with ace8uk but id change the the 8800 gt for a 4850 and the pentium dual core to a e6600

I figured you could spend as little as possible if you're going to play Counterstrike mainly. You won't need to OC that rig and CCL do not offer low end motherboards in their mid-range bundles. They have excellent customer service and rep.

If you wanted a build bang on £500, you should have said.

EDIT:

I mean the moeny saved count buy something better than CS:source.

Downloading music isn't too demanding really perry
Coffeejunky's build is great, but I've never heard of cclonline. If you say that they're good, I'm sure they are. Just never heard of them myself, always gone with ebuyer and ocuk.

If you're willing to spend £10 more than coffee's build you get a 4850: http://www.ebuyer.com/product/145527
