It is. But it sets up the dual boot for you, like it's nothing. It also uninstalls just like it's a program. It's very easy, and completely harmless. Also, you wont have to deal with the woes of VMWare's limited access to your machine.

Select linux 2.6, or ubuntu (if there is such an option). It's the OS you want to install.

lol i just came to edit the question out after reading the instructions
OCN makes me too lazy to read wats on the screen,

cant i install the Virtual hard drisk on a diffrent dirve than C
cant see the option for that

how big should i make the V HDD?

Go with the defaults. When you select Linux 2.6, it will provide the recommended settings for you. Usually this will be 8-10 gigs of HDD space and like 256 or 512 megs of RAM. Also note that it doesn't partition your drive in any way, it just uses the predefined number of GB where available (this is a simplification, but the main thing is it doesn't act like a regular HDD partition). This negates the need for any sort of hard drive resizing and all of that mess.
