Best build for less than $500?

Well I'm throwing together a new box to use for recording, and at this point I only want to put about $500 into it. Less if possible. Since it's for recording, graphics aren't a must.. but I want at least a 64MB 3D Graphics card, such as Nvidia GeForce 3 or above.. just so I'm not running on on-board gfx taking up other resources.

As far as the CPU, I'm not sure if I should go single core or dual. I've heard the E2180 is good, but again, not sure.

Thanks

Edit - I have a PSU & case, so don't include that in the budget.

I threw that together based on different successful builds I've seen around the forum. Do I need to get a heatsink? Is there anything I'm forgetting? and would the on-board mobo video suffice for me? I don't need any high-end graphics hardware to record.
