< $500 Build. Rate & Suggest Improvements!

This build is for recording, I'm not concerned about gfx/video in the least. Keep that in mind when making suggestions! This is strictly a performance build with OCing not really in mind. I already have a PSU, Case, and Monitor. Not sure if I need anything else? Tell me if I missed something! If there are cheaper alternatives that would work just as well & give the same performance, please feel free to let me know.

You may consider an e7200 over the 6750 if you're looking to save, I couldn't speak to the performance difference though.

Actually I think a e7200 performs better than the older e6750, not entirely sure though.

Am I missing anything? Assuming I already have the PSU, Monitor, and case? What kind of cables am I going to need?

I'll see if I can find out. Anymore info on that would be helpful.

The E7200 vs E6750 is going to be a hard call. I may end up going with the e7200 since I'm saving so much more, and it appears as if I'll have no problem OCing it up to around 3.0GHz if I ever want to. On another note, I just realized they both come with the heatsink.. so is the cpu cooler I have listed in my original post really necessary?

I also say go with the E7200. Also, go with DDR2 800 not 1066. Here is some mushkin memory. It's really nice.

As for the cooler, go with the Tuniq tower. It's $20 more, but if you go with DDR2 800, you can afford it.

Also, remember the video card. I'd check out a HD 3850 or 3870.

All the cables you need will should come with your motherboard.
EDIT:What about a sound card ? And as far as OC'ing with the stock cooler I would think a moderate OC would be OK,but as far as pushing it I really couldn't say.
