I would say that you should get a P35/45 if you want to stick with a single card, and I would suggest DFI DK P35/45, I have the P35, and in this machine, I have an X38 (not really relevant, but whatever). The P35/45 chipset OC's very well, and I would suggest an E8400 or a Q6700 depending on how much multitasking you do. The 8400 is cheaper, and is a dual core, OC's very well, and is good for gaming. The 6700 also OC's very well but isn't as useful for gaming, but more useful for regular multitasking.

I don't want to get into a water-cooling argument, but you will need to address your cooling issue for a quad, especially going from AMD to Intel. The Big Water will need to go!!!

Anyways, the two CPUs are different in a couple of ways. The big difference is going to be heat the Q6700 kicks out.

The Q6700(65 nm):
2.66 GHz 1066 MHz(FSB) 8 MB cache
The Q9450(45 nm):
2.66 GHz 1333 MHz(FSB) 12 MB cache

Your video encoding will benefit from the additional cache and FSB of the Q9450, but if you want it for pure overclocking ability, you should go for the Q6700 keeping in mind the additional cooling abilities you'll need.

im my first post "also want ... better that stock cpu cooling (not water)"

meaning id rather stick to a better than stock HSF and air cool the new cpu

Tuniq Tower 120 ?

and if im going to overclock both CPUs, whats going to end up faster ?
