Say that when one drive goes bad and you lose everything.

Besides, it may not even be that much faster, and RAID is a pain in the butt at times.

it takes long enough to format and install your OS on an 80gb hard drive let alone that!

3 0r 4 250gb's is MORE than enough for anything in that going to be used in the home!
hell...my servers in work do not even have that amount of space!

wonder what the 1st game will be that requires 1tb!...
prob will also need 6xQ6600 and 12GB RAM!
I could fill 1TB, I easily filled my 80+160.. Very easily.
Also, apparently you have never heard of "partitioning"..

Partition like 80GB for your OS + apps, doesnt take that much time then. Ands its not 1000gbs, its 1000GB

Gb = gigabit
GB = Gigabyte
One Byte = Eight Bits

Thus 1000Gbs would be like 125GB .

Ive filled just by myself around.... 480+160+206+60+420..... 5 hds. total of 1322gigs.

Cuz we will never need 1TB of space....

My friend just bought himself another 750 gig hard drive for a total of 2 terabytes of space in his home PC. That's cuz he was at 7 gigs free space left.

HD-Videos really don't help my case My school lent me the camera so yeah. I have around 500gigs of HD footage.

those aren't the deathstars. that refers to the older line of harddrives mainly made by IBM when they owned the deskstar lineup but also includes those made by hitachi mainly regarding their 60GXP(IBM only), 75GXP(IBM only), 120GXP(hitatchi and ibm) and 180GXP(hitatchi and IBM) models
your model is very much different then the deathstars. sorry to burst your bubble but your hard drive is just fine and should be very reliable.
maybe next time though you can find a deathstar drive

if that's not needed for home use why do I have 3x1tb at home ?
and anyway the time it takes to format(quick format) and intall OS has nothing to do with the size of it , and will probably be faster then your old 80gb hd.
