[GS]fallout 3 banned in Australia - Page 2

I say the US attacks aulstralia and Gill what's your grudge against the US? Im sure some nazi germans or Axis Japs would have loved your little island after WW2. Or maybe some terrorists will decide that they like you more than the rest of the world. If we attack aulstralia for the disruption of art then we can have a better reason to go to war than all of bush's reasons combined!

And your post is invalid anyway. They must do it before release, and I doubt they are over reacting in any way. If a game is banned, then it must be - well - serious. Why would they give the game a good rating so it can come out, be played in their country, and then ban it after the "damage" has been done?
"I do it for 3 reasons mostly.

1) So people know the tone of the sentence, paragraph, whatever, before they start reading it.

2)
To stand out in some small way

3) I have multiple personality disorder, each face represents a repressed facet of my personality. The doctors say if I don't post like that I could go (more) insane."

"They are over reacting because they BAN it. They don't give it a 18+, since I guess they don't have it because no Australian adult ever plays a video game. You don't ban something just because it doesn't appeal to the morals of some uptight jerks, at least you don't if you live in a country that enjoys free speech and free expression."

"If my posting style bothers you, well, good for you. I guess quotation marks and smiley faces annoy the hell out of you for some reason. Ummm, what can be done?"

Banning a game will just attract MORE people to it. It'll make kids want to play it even more.

Is that a joke?

Anyway its a shame about the amount of games banned in Australia, but like some have said, there are other ways to get it, and if you really want it, you could get it.

OMG and so it begins...

Being an Aussie i have had enough of this silly censorship, i mean come on, i really believe that your average Australian thinks that children who play violent computer games are destined to become psycho killers! Can we as adults decide what we want to play? The MA15+ rating is a joke anyway, my 10 year old cousin has bought games by himself from EB without any questions asked

Why have silly censorship rules that are non binding anyway?

I disagree. My 12 year old cousin played GTA:SA and now he says all the crap and swearing and racial abuse from it.

It ends up depending on the individual.

As an aussie I thought you knew better than to agree with ACA & TT.

Oh boy not this again with the censorship laws. How can Fallout 3 be more violent or more adult than GTA 4? Just came back from my local gamestore they are saying that they Fallout 3 still coming So I don't know what the hell is going on

Anyway, what I really find strange about these censorhip laws is that they are there for a reason. To prompt users/parents/guardians of who should be playing these games. Classification is one way of notifying the user that what age should be suitable for people viewing its content. If you feel that kids such as the age of 6 are going to go out and buy it then it should be the people selling the game(i.e. Wallmart...target...EB games... ). Why ban a game and let the entire community suffer?

Shouldn't they be banning ALL television there, too? After all, TV has all the things that Fallout 3 is being banned for.
