I think censorship of pretty much any kind is silly, but this example is especially so.
I say this because Fallout games, as exaggerated and simplified as they are, show drugs in a more realistic light than almost any other video game. It's one of the few game series where drug dependency is an issue, and where the pros of most drugs are balanced by plausible cons.
Who ever makes decisions like this for austrialia seems to value a distorted ideal more than fact, and seems to be heavily biased against games that do not obfuscate with silly euphemisms.
I've seen people play RPGs and MMOs that are perfectly legal in Austrialia chug "potions" and pound down "herbs" like no tomorrow, with no hint of negative side effects for their characters! Call these "herbs" and "potions" what they in are, drugs, and the games would never have seen the light of day.
