e2180 voltage query

Thread Starter
hey guys.

i recently oc my cpu to 2.5 but my voltage was 1.3something. i ran orthos and my temps were over 59 in jus 2min. so i dropped the voltage down to 1.2something basically stock voltage and now i run orthos for 30 minutes and my temps dont exceed 53. so am i correct in sayin that i can keep the current voltage or must i set it back to 1.3something that the bios set?

thank you kindly

If it's stable, you're fine. I would run Orthos overnight to be more sure.

I think what you were saying is that your bios had your vcore set to 1.3 when it was on auto, you set it to 1.2 and your stable for 30 minutes. You just found out why most people like to enter in there own vcore instead of keeping it on auto . The motherboard overestimates and increases the vcore to more than what it may need, if you can run stable at 2.5ghz at 1.2v then you now that you can get at least to 3ghz, 59c isnt too bad under full load for a large overclock but for 2.5 your instincts are good
