Gaming Computer: AMD+ATI - Page 2

I have a 4600+, was not able to get past 2.65ghz. Not really a great OCer but its still a good chip and has served me well. Never had any problems with it.
Good luck with your build.

Nbrider, was your 4600+ a Manchester or Windsor? The Manchester core typically required quite a bit voltage when hitting the 2.7 - 2.8Ghz range. Your OC at 2.65Ghz is actually pretty good in my opinion

Hey -

My 4600+ is a Windsor; took me 1.44 volts to get it to 2.65ghz too :-/
I have it running on a Foxconn Nvidia Nforce 590 sli Mobo.
Thanks for the compliment though, I'm still a newbie at OCing!

I would get this motherboard instead. Its the same price (I think?) and has a better NB and SB. YOu can also use the integrated graphics for hybrid Crossfire, I think.

I would also get this CPU for only 7 dollars more. It's 65nm, and should prove to be a better OCer.

"Nice tip! Thanks! I think I'll make that change (MMmMMmmm Hybrid!)."

"I'm not sure about overclocking. I would have to get (at the least) a Arctic Cool. That's a good 30 dollars. At this price range wouldn't it just be easier to spend 30 dollars more on the CPU (not that I want to do that, remember, tight budget)."
