Please help me reach 4Ghz on Q6600!

Thread Starter
hi guys, just got my new rig few days ago. been playing around with it. will post some pics and comments on the parts later.

the P5Q deluxe is a great board with heaps of overclocking options, but the thing is that i don't know how to muck around with most of them. (e.g. clock skewing, cpu pll voltages, fsb termination voltage ect.)

the thing is, i got it stable at 3.7Ghz (primed for 12hrs+ and working with it now), my temps are cool (low 30s idle and med/high 40s under load). i'm pumping 1.36 volts. but i couldn't get it to overclock to 4Ghz no matter what i try.....

can someone pls help me reach the 4Ghz mark.... thanks in advance

about threads on this board: apparently not many ppl are using this board yet since its still relatively new and no 2x16 PCIe lanes. not much help there.

tried that, tried 1.475v but BSOD during vista startup

by the way, i kept my RAM at near or under stock speed while overclocking my CPU (so i wouldn't think it'll be RAM problems)

It could be a FSB hole or you might need more volts, but my guess is (since you said you already tried a lot) that you are just running at your CPU's limit. Most Q6600's won't go over 3,6Ghz (stable that is), so getting 3,7Ghz is already nice.
