alright so lets talk about another issue... when i try to bump up the cpu i only have a few choices for what the ram can be set at. I know last night when i was trying to run it at 3.4 the closest i had to 1066 was 900 something the next one above that was 1100 something .... is there any way to have the two unlinked and i can keep the memory at 1066 and be able to bump up the cpu without the other changing?

DDR2 + 0.4v. (the mobo defaults to 1.8v) That would give you 2.2v

Then try 2.40 CPU/FSB ratio. That's 5/4

Some boards allow you to unlink memory some dont.

Honestly you may not be able to tell the difference between 900mhz and 1100 mhz, I wouldnt worry too much, plus underclocking your ram means that your putting less stress on it and that it will last longer, theoretically.
