Oh, my bad, I guess 1024*768 isn't considered HD. My bad.

it is very inconvenient now, i used to be able to open a video on my desktop (main display monitor), then the video will playback normally on the monitor BUT it'll also play it full screen automatically on the 2nd display (tv).

but now that i can't clone so that my LCD=1920x1200 and tv=1024x768, i have to use extended mode and drag the video across to the tv then click it to view full screen. AND the worst thing is when the video is in 16:9 (which most of them are these days) then i have to manually resize/strech the video taller to make it full screen on my 16:9 tv. imagine doing that while watching ten clips continuosly at 15 mins each

so simply put, i don't like the extended mode as i prefer the clone mode. or it'll help if someone can teach me how to produce full screen video on 2nd display upon opening the video normally under main display.

I'm sure it can be done on XP as I have a laptop that can do it, on vista it should be possible. I have let the monitor settings on defaults (have no idea what clone/extend is) I have just tuned the resolution to have on the VGA output 800x600 (for the projector) and leave 1280x800 for the laptop screen.

If I press one time FN+F6 I get the same image on both screens each at their own resolution. Press once more and the lappy goes black, I get only the projector output, pressFN+F6 a third time and I get only the screen signal. This is with the Catalyst 8.4, I have never installed the stock drivers on the lappy, so the settings are by default the ones from the catalyst.

Hope it helps...it can be done in XP, hopefully in Vista too.

yes, i could perform this on XP also, XP's display settings or the nVidia's display settings on XP have the functions i want. but i could not find it on Vista nor ATI's catalyst

thanks for ur reply anyways

my hard work to get vista x64 working properly and my newly brought 4870 seems like a waste now since i can't even do the simplest of things..... really frustrated!
