the trailer shows aspects that resemble the movie. what looks like mona in one shot making an appearance. the vaguely noticeable storyline connections. But whats with the science fiction elements? a guy with eagle wings flying out of a window? I dont think it'll be a blockbuster. It would be if they turned the game into a direct movie. But thats never the case. Movie directors always think they can 'improve' the game storyline but it just takes it further away from what it's supposed to be. And he doesnt even look like max payne for starters. He looks too soft. Max payne is supposed to be a hardened and tormented cop. He just looks like hes in a mood.
I never expected it to live up to its name but i think this will rank alongside hitman in the movie industry. Close but yet so far. Just an excuse to use the name maybe? Max payne is a film-noir novel based story. It would do exceptionally well as an art-style movie in the way that sin city worked. It would benefit so much from that adaptation on screen. but this looks to just be a load of unecessary characters and mis-chosen cast members. Why must the main character always be chosen from the top 50 actors in the inudstry? I for one am bored of Mark Wahlberg. I think his acting diversity is very limited and doesnt suit this role atall. Just in the way that Timothy Olyphant did NOT suit the role of Agent 47 in Hitman. Angelina Jolie does not look or move like Lara Croft. I think James McCaffrey (the voice actor for max payne in the game) actually looks and sounds exactly as max payne should look. Early 40's. Mature. Dark. Not boring old Mark Wahlberg. So many people said it. But Thomas Jane would have been good for this role. Not perfect. But a damn lot better than Wahlberg. Max Payne 1 & 2 are both some of my favourite games of all time..
Darnit.. They should ban game movies..
i agree with your Sin City adaptation, i never thought of it like that...
Looking through the trailer, it looks to be more like Max Payne 1 instead of Max Payne 2, given the references to Aesir, which 2 hardly, if at all, had.
oh, Mila Kunis is fine!
